En esta institución encontré a dos de los mejores mentores científicos que una bióloga podría tener la fortuna de conocer. Fernando Feliz y Ben Haase. A ambos de ellos les debo el más grande de los agradecimientos que yo pueda tener. Fernando y Ben lideraban el proyecto, yo fui una voluntaria muy activa. De este proyecto nació la actual industria turística de observación de ballenas en la costa ecuatoriana, programas de manejo y conservación, ayuda a pescadores, Desarrollo hotelero, leyes estatales, entre otras.
